STANDARD FITTING

Ordering a standard corset in the Curious-Curves range is simple - just measure your waist, decrease by 4-5" and you have the waist size you need to select in the 'waist size minus 2-4"..' box.  For a waist below 30" please decrease by 2-3". 

This will give you a corset which will not be fully closed at the back, whilst giving a 2" waist reduction. When closed as fully as we recommend, you can have a 3" waist reduction. It is suggested that you always leave at least a 1" gap at the back of the corset. If you wish to have a greater waist reduction, or your body is very accustomed to wearing corsets, then we suggest buying a smaller corset rather than over-tightening. If you are very experienced with corsets and require one that produces a significant waist reduction we strongly recommend buying a made-to-measure corset for the best results.

Standard corsets are made approx. 10-12" bigger at the bust and hips than the corset waist size.  Therefore, if you were to order a 30" waist corset, the measurements at the bust and hips would be approx. 40". Corset cup size on a standard corset is C.  Please bear this in mind when ordering - if you are outside the standard size ratio range (particularly when your cup size is smallar or much larger) please order a made-to-measure corset.

Modesty Panel

In the space between the edges of the corset, under the lacing, a panel of your back remains on show.  Some people like this look - an alternative option is to order a modesty panel, also referred to as a 'back panel', to be fitted to the corset.  The same material is used for the panel as for the body of the corset, giving a lovely look to the back behind the lacing. (Back panels come as standard if you order a natural silk fabric.)

MADE-TO-MEASURE

Curious-Curves also offers a custom made-to-measure service.  This option gives a very personal touch to your corset, being that it has been tailormade especially according to your body measurements (bust, waist & hip sizes).  Made-to-measure corsets are suitable for everyone, especially those with an irregular bust/waist ratio (maybe those with small waist and large busts or visa versa) or for those outside the standard size range.

If you require our made-to-measure (m2m) service please select your natural bust, waist and hip measurements and we will do the rest!  Your bespoke corset will be made according to the measurements you provide.

Guidelines for measuring yourself:

Step 1: Bust measurement: taken around the fullest part (usually along the nipple line) whilst wearing a bra. 

Step 2:  Underbust measurement & Bra Cup Size:  taken around the underneath of your bust.  This info can be left in the 'comments' box at check-out or by separate email.

Step 3: Waist measurement:  taken at the smallest point (usually approx. 2" above the navel).

Step 4: Hips measurement: it is important not to measure too low (around the lower bottom or thighs).  Measure where you estimate the corset will end (generally at hip bone area).

It proves useful to give us your bra cup size for 'm2m' corsets, as a large bust size does not always equate to a large cup size (large around the back for instance).  If your size is not displayed on our drop-down menu, please email us with your measurements and we will do our best to accommodate. As you will see when ordering, the made-to-measure option is an additional £30 per corset.

The corsets we offer are constructed using tried-and-trusted traditional methods, with modern upgrades including steel bones and 21st century designs.  This all adds up to a beautiful piece of body wear you can be proud to show off on the outside, or have the secret fantastic feeling a real corset gives underneath your clothing, not to mention the superb hourglass shape achieved.

Curious-Curves.com commissions each and every corset according to the measurements you give us.  Whether it is a standard size or made-to-measure, the corset is made especially for YOU.  As such, we regard them as intimate apparel (rather like underwear).  Therefore it is our policy not to accept any returns for credit, replacement or refund.  The only exception being if the garment is faulty.  Please be aware that we carefully inspect every corset before despatch to avoid any disappointment.

It is therefore ESSENTIAL that you follow the guidelines for measuring yourself to get the correct size.

Corset length:  Please bear in mind that our styles vary in length to accommodate many different figures.  As such, the style you like may not be suitable for your height.  For instance, if you are under 5'7" our long-bodied corsets will be too long.  On the other hand, should you have a tall stature you may find the shorter styles will not suffice.  If you are in any doubt over a particular style, please contact us for advice.  We have adjusted many styles to suit a particular height or shape, so do not be afraid to ask!
